Practice
Jeffrey C. Pingpank practices in the area of litigation, including employment and employment-related litigation, products liability, as well as general litigation. He also works in the areas of labor relations, education and administrative law. Before joining Cooney, Scully and Dowling, Mr. Pingpank served as counsel to the Connecticut Association of Boards of Education, and was an instructor in labor relations at the Hartford Graduate Center, and an employment law correspondent for the Connecticut Law Tribune. He has been with Cooney, Scully and Dowling since 1983.

Professional Experience
Mr. Pingpank represents employers, including educational institutions, and non-profit organizations in labor relations. He counsels employers on employment and labor relations issues, and represents them in labor negotiations. He provides training on employment topics such as hiring, discipline and termination, policy writing. He also works extensively with educational institutions and non-profit organizations in a variety of matters. Representative clients include the Archdiocese of Hartford, St. Francis Home and Lauralton Hall, as well as other private sector employers and educational organizations. He has successfully defended numerous cases before the Connecticut Commission on Human Rights and Opportunities. He served for almost 20 years as a management member of the Governor's Arbitration Panel for Teacher-Board Contract Disputes, was on the Advisory Board, Education Labor Relations Service, joint project of U.S. Conference of Mayors and National School Board Association from 1979 - 1980.

In litigation, he represents medical device and other product manufacturers. He has successful represented SBC (now AT&T) in matters as diverse as product liability suits and motor vehicle accidents. He has defended psychologists and other mental health care practitioners in medical malpractice defense and before the Department of Public Health, and serves as counsel to the Connecticut Psychological Association. He has lectured and written on litigation topics.

Professional and Civic Activities
Mr. Pingpank is a member of the Connecticut Bar Association - Labor Law Section, as well as the Connecticut School Attorneys' Council for which he served as President in 1981. He co-authored an article "Wrongful Discharge: A 'New' Cause of Action" in the June 1980 Connecticut Bar Journal. He was a founder of the Farmington Education Foundation in 1997, served as its President from 1997 to 1998 and remains on its board today. He was a member of board of directors of Winding Trails, Inc., from 1987 to 1991, and was its President in 1991. He was on the Board of Directors of the Farmington Land Trust from 1993 until 2005, and was on the Noah Wallace Fund Advisory Committee for over 10 years.
